Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Rumba processes the information needed to operate and secure its service.

Information collected

When an account is created, Rumba collects the information provided, including the email address, secured authentication data, language and account settings. The password is stored in a protected form, not in plain text.

Viewing and activity

Rumba may record viewing history, playback progress, content added to a list, searches, interactions and events needed for playback. This data is used to operate the service, resume playback and improve the experience.

Creator information

When someone uses Creator features, Rumba processes profile, application, content, rights, performance and payment data, as well as communications needed to manage this area. The terms specific to Creators continue to apply separately.

Payments and service providers

When payment features are enabled, transactions may be processed by the providers configured in Rumba, such as PayPal or MaishaPay. When these providers handle payment data, Rumba must neither display nor retain complete payment identifiers. Rumba may, however, retain the necessary transaction references, statuses, amounts and accounting data.

Rumba may also use its hosting provider, Bunny Stream for video delivery and an email delivery provider, depending on the features used. These providers receive only the information necessary to carry out their tasks.

Technical and security data

Information such as the IP address, device or browser type, connection logs, sessions, errors and security events may be processed to protect accounts, prevent abuse and diagnose issues with the service.

Purposes of processing

• create and administer accounts;
• provide the catalog, playback and requested features;
• manage Creators and applicable subscriptions and payments;
• respond to support requests;
• secure, maintain and improve the service;
• comply with legal and accounting obligations.

Retention

Information is retained for as long as necessary for the purposes described, then deleted or anonymized, unless longer retention is required for legal, accounting, dispute-resolution or security reasons.

Account and data deletion

A signed-in user can request deletion from Account → Delete my account. The procedure and the option available to people who can no longer access their account are described on the Account and Data Deletion page.

Your rights

Depending on the applicable law, you may request access to, correction or deletion of your data, or restriction of its processing, and you may object to certain processing. Use the Contact / Support page to submit a request; reasonable identity verification may be required.

Security

Rumba applies appropriate technical and organizational measures, including protection of passwords, sessions and private access. As no system can guarantee absolute security, these measures are reviewed in light of the risks.

Children and minors

Minors must use Rumba only with the permission and supervision of a parent or legal representative where required by law. A legal representative may contact support about a minor's data.
